A daydreamer and a hip-hop head with a passion for the pen, Tyler K. McDermott always knew she wanted to be a writer. Born in the Bronx, NY, but constantly traveling elsewhere, Tyler graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a B.A. in Television Production with a minor in Journalism in 2014. Using the tools instilled in her by various professionals and her passion for America’s cultural landscape, Tyler has grown into a driven and motivated journalist. Her writing has appeared in publications ranging from JET Magazine to Billboard, and she’s now a news producer in Washington, DC. Tyler hopes to continue to travel and pursue her career goals, ultimately using her talents to become a renowned storyteller and a voice for individuals who are unable to speak for themselves.
