If you know me personally, you know I love my old-school music. Not just 90’s music, but I can go WAY back to the Motown era when I’m feeling it. So you may catch me posting throwback or flashback videos every now and again on Thursday (for throwback) or Friday (for flashback).

This week, my jam of day is “Return of the Mack” by Mark Morrison. It was released on March 18th, 1996 and hit number 1 on the U.S. Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 chart. It went platinum in the U.S. in 1997.

If asked why I chose this particular song to post today, I’d have to say this: when it comes down to all relationships (not just romantic ones) where we pack our hopes away in one situation, it can be upsetting if the expectations aren’t met. However, there has to be that one point of time where you dust yourself off, get back up, and keep pushing forward. Not in the sense to return to being a “mack” like Mark, but to return to being whoever you are because you come first. Think about it. I had to.
