Upcoming fashion label, GOCA [Go-Ca] joined hands with Make-A-Wish Foundation this October for a benefit held at the University of Illinois campus.
Aiding the well-known organization with their efforts to raise $5,000 for future endeavors, GOCA, headed by, Gordana Rasic and Omar Villalobos, provided the entertainment with a showcase of their Fall/Winter 2011 line, entitled “Anatomy of the Human Soul”.
According to Vice-President Omar Villalobos, each piece from the duo’s line this season is designed to represent a bodily organ. Grabbing inspiration from his grandmother’s affliction with the nerves in her legs, as well as Founder/Chief Designer Gordana’s father’s struggle with cancer, each piece is made with a focus on the most important organ to a particular person:
“We designed every piece to represent a body organ, being that my grandmother just passed away and Gordana’s dad is struggling with cancer, we were toying with the concept of ‘Which organ is the most important to people?” Is there a difference between what affliction they’re going through and what type of person they are,” Omar stated in a brief comment.
Employing models with subtle, yet bold, red lips, GOCA strutted down the Illinois campus catwalk to victory, helping Make-A-Wish Foundation raise the entire $5,000 needed!
